Two different outputs behind “1.4 TSI”
Volkswagen’s Golf VI engine profile lists 1,390 cc 1.4 TSI versions at 90 kW / 122 PS and 118 kW / 160 PS for 2008–2012. The badge and displacement are shared; neither uniquely identifies the output.
- Compare the advert with documented maximum engine power, preferably in kW, and the engine code from the vehicle’s original records. Do not convert a seller’s unspecified “horsepower” label into a confirmed specification.
- Confirm the transmission, build period and five-door body separately. Matching the 1.4-litre engine family is only one part of selecting the appropriate catalogue variant.
- If an advert combines 90 kW with 160 PS, ask the seller to resolve the discrepancy against the documents. Do not combine the power from one version with the economy or performance of the other.
